Event Details

The Birmingham Purity Ball is an unforgettable night where fathers and daughters join in a celebration of the heart.  The ball is an opportunity for fathers to make a commitment to be men of purity not only in action, but in thought and emotion as well.  They are exhorted to live according to what it says in Philippians 4:8, “to dwell on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise.”  The men also promise to guide and protect their daughters in the choices of purity.  In response the young ladies silently commit to live in a godly, pure way and they commemorate this by laying a white rose down at the foot of the cross.

This is a night to cherish the promises of God.  The ball is a time to celebrate God’s love of his children and a father’s love for his daughter.  Because we treasure our daughters as regal princesses- for in Isaiah 43:4 God says of them “you are precious in my eyes, and honored and I love you”- we want to treat them as royalty on this special night.

The Faithfulness of God the Father

God has promised to love us, never forsake us, forgive us, purify us from all unrighteousness, and ultimately, to save us to Himself forever.  The event should emphasize the faithfulness of God and that we can only live faithfully by abiding in His unchanging faithfulness.

Call to Fathers and Daughters

-In response to God’s faithfulness, we should live by faith in the promises of God.  We should trust God to know what is best for us, to guide us to do what is best for us, and to show us the way to do what is best for us.

-In response to God’s love, we should seek to love God with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

-In response to God’s promise to never forsake us, we should live confidently in His security.  We should have no fear and should always remain hopeful for His promises to be fulfilled.

-In response to God’s promise to purify us from all unrighteousness, we should confess our past sins, repent of them, and live joyfully as a forgiven son or daughter of God.

-In response to God’s promise to save us, we should live faithful, thankful lives; enjoying God’s blessing today and resting in His promised provision for the future.
